You officially become a client of our firm once you have signed the documents in the Enrollment Package and paid the Retainer.
Once you are a client, we will take the following actions on your behalf:
Within one (1) business day of your signing the Enrollment Package documents and authorized by the Power of Attorney you signed, we will contact the IRS to obtain copies of all appropriate Tax Return Transcripts, Tax Account Transcripts, Record of Account Transcripts, Wage & Income Transcripts, and IRS Verification of No-Filing Letters.
After we have reviewed the transcripts, we will schedule either an in-person meeting or a conference call with you to discuss your case.
Within one (1) business day of the conference call, we will email you a Document Production Request.
Click HERE to see the types of income documents we may require.
Additionally, we will require (i) copies of all IRS (and state-tax-board) correspondence you have received and (ii) copies of all relevant, filed tax returns.
Please assemble the requested documents,
Scan or take pictures of them, and then
Attach the scans or pictures to a ProtonMail® email and send them to us.
ProtonMail® limits attachments to 25 megabytes. If you need to use multiple emails to send us your documents, please include the following statement in each of your email's subject line:
Documents - Confidential - Email #__ of __
For instance, if you need to send us 3 emails, the subject lines of the three emails would read:
Documents - Confidential - Email #1 of 3
Documents - Confidential - Email #2 of 3
Documents - Confidential - Email #3 of 3
If you take a picture instead of scanning the documents, please review each picture to make sure it is in sharp focus and that the entire document is present.
As illustrated above, always include the word "CONFIDENTIAL" in the email subject line when you email (tax) documents, confidential information, or personal identifying information to us.
We will stay in regular contact with you (by telephone, email, or in-person meetings) as we prepare your tax documents and/or tax case.
IF YOUR ENGAGEMENT LETTER IS FOR NON-FILED/LATE-FILED TAX RETURNS
We will always attempt to call you first when questions arise during the preparation of your tax forms.
If we cannot reach you by telephone, we will we then send you an email request for additional documents or clarification on particular issues that have arisen.
Once we have prepared your tax returns, we will forward them to you for your review. If acceptable, you will be prompted to sign them electronically. Once signed, we will file the documents with the IRS and, as necessary, with the appropriate state tax boards.
If, at any time thereafter, you receive correspondence from the IRS, please know we will receive copies of that correspondence as well, as the IRS Power of Attorney you signed instructs the IRS to carbon copy us on all correspondence it sends to you.
We will review such correspondence received. If the IRS has made demands for additional documentation or information, we will contact you by telephone to discuss what actions, if any, we will need to take to respond to the new IRS demands. If we cannot reach you by telephone, we will send you an email requesting that you call us.
You may receive a bill from the IRS and/or state tax board(s) for past-due taxes, interest, and penalties once your returns have been processed and the taxes have been assessed.
If you are unable to pay the taxes due, let us know, and we can then determine the best tax-resolution course of action for you to take -- whether that is applying for an Installment Agreement, making an Offer In Compromise, or seeking to get you placed into a Currently Non-Collectible Status. Please Note: These tax-resolution services are not included in the cost of Current Promotion #1 for November - December 2020. You will need to engage us separately to represent you in these matters.
IF YOUR ENGAGEMENT LETTER IS FOR IRS REPRESENTATION SERVICES
We will stay in regular contact with you (by telephone, email, or in-person meetings) as we review your case, prepare petitions and other documents, and represent you before the IRS and any state-tax board.
